Dr. Michael Bird
Michael Bird is the Founder and President of Wings of Grace Counseling Services. Wings of Grace Counseling Services is a 501(C)(3), non-profit organization, dedicated to serving the counseling needs of individuals and families in a variety of situations.
Along with other therapists with unique specialties who have joined with Dr. Bird, Wings of Grace seeks to bring healing and growth to all ages from the youngest of children to the elderly.
Dr. Bird has been a licensed Marriage and Family therapist since 1994. Prior to becoming a licensed therapist, Dr. Bird served in a variety of pastoral positions, first as a youth pastor, then as an associate pastor, and eventually as a senior pastor for over 20 years. In 1996, Dr. Bird received a Doctor of Ministry degree in Marriage and Family Counseling from Denver Seminary. Dr. Bird had previously received his Master of Divinity degree in 1977, also from Denver Seminary.
Dr. Bird is a clinical member and an approved supervisor of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy. His is also a certified clinical member of the International Institute for Trauma and Addiction Professionals (IITAP.)
Dr. Bird specializes in marital and premarital counseling. He often uses an intensive format, in which he invests 15 to 20 hours a week with one or two couples. He also works with couples in the traditional 50-minute weekly session. Furthermore, he specializes in treating sexual addiction and compulsivity issues, sexual dysfunction, and affair recovery.
Dr. Bird has been married to Jan Adair Bird since 1975. They have two grown children, Amy and Brad and three grandchildren.
